Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations within our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all mechanical and electrical systems with the support of external contractors where needed, and implementing preventative maintenance programmes, whilst ensuring the hospital safety is maintained. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence across the hospital.

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the daily operations, repair, and maintenance of Waterloo manor Hospital building and the grounds, along with equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with healthcare facility standards, safety regulations, and infection control requirements specific to health care settings.

Duties



Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Lead and motivate the team, providing guidance and support to foster a productive work environment. Develop and implement maintenance schedules, including predictive and preventative maintenance programmes. Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Manage projects related to equipment upgrades or installations, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they result in operational disruptions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment history. Liaise with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules.

Skills



Proven supervisory experience within a maintenance environment. Working knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire safety. Familiarity with behavioral health safety requirements (e.g., anti-ligature design, secure fixtures). Excellent supervisory qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Solid understanding of maintenance procedures, safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques. Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. This role is suited for a dedicated professional with strong leadership capabilities who is committed to maintaining operational integrity through expert technical knowledge and effective team management.

Physical Requirements



Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, or standing for extended periods. Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally exposed to varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule



Full-time, typically Monday-Friday, with on-call rotation for emergencies and after-hours issues.

Pay: 31,200.00 per year
