Maintenance Supervisor
to join our team and help ensure our Home remains a comfortable, compliant, and well-maintained space for residents and staff alike.
Due to our beautiful rural location, applicants need to have the use of their own transport as public transport to the home is extremely limited.
Hours:
42.5 hours per week, with flexibility to cover weekends and out-of-hours as needed
About the Role
As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will assist our Maintenance Manager, in maintaining the Home's facilities, overseeing compliance and liaising with our contractors. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing of our residents and the smooth operation of our care home.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining and inspecting key systems: power, heating, water, electrical, fire alarms, and more.
Conducting fire risk assessments.
Overseeing laundry, sluice, and ancillary equipment.
Managing external grounds, windows, roofing, and internal building upkeep.
Coordinating and carrying out room redecoration and refurbishment projects.
Maintaining a full register of equipment and ensuring all maintenance is up to date and certified.
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments
Responding to emergencies and carrying out proactive maintenance
What We are Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience in general maintenance, ideally within a care home or similar setting, preferably experience with older buildings.
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
A proactive, relationship-focused approach to team and contractor management
A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices
Desirable:
City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Property Maintenance (or equivalent)
