To carry out general maintenance across Cream Care homes and other assigned projects, ensuring a safe, functional, and high-quality environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role plays a key part in the smooth operation of the care homes by maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds in good working order.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned via the maintenance management system. This includes (but is not limited to):
General repairs and property maintenance
Installation, repair, or upkeep of fixtures and fittings (within the scope of the role)
Identifying and escalating issues requiring specialist contractors
Monitoring and ensuring safety and maintenance of company vehicles, including booking for repairs, servicing, and MOTs
Small-scale painting and decorating to maintain aesthetic and functional standards
oEnsuring gardens and grounds are maintained in a safe, accessible condition
Proactively identify and respond to maintenance needs, both internally and externally, including grounds and garden areas.
Conduct routine reviews of property and grounds condition, working closely with the Home Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and Facilities Manager.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of work completed, time spent, and issues identified within the organisation's maintenance management system.
Use company vehicles to collect parts, tools, or equipment as necessary to carry out tasks or support the care home's needs.
Adhere to and promote health and safety standards in all work, in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Undertake any required training to support safe and efficient performance of maintenance duties.
Represent Cream Care in a professional and respectful manner, upholding confidentiality at all times.
Follow all organisational policies and procedures.
While not essential, familiarity with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) is desirable, particularly for assisting with mobility and lifting equipment maintenance.

Person Specification:
Essential:
Basic knowledge and practical experience in general maintenance tasks
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Good communication and time management skills
Full UK driving license
Basic understanding of health and safety practices
Desirable:
Experience in a care or residential environment
Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER
Familiarity with maintenance management systems or software
