Maintenance Team Leader/ Manager

Atlantic Biogas Ltd are an Operations and Maintenance provider to the renewable energy sector. We are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader/ Manager , ideally the candidate will bring a mix of hands on craftsman capability, management capability and Anaerobic Digestion Experience to lead a team of craftsmen supervisors in maintaining a portfolio of 3 Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants located in Glenrothes, Dundee and Aberdeen
The manager shall maintain a good standard of availability for the systems under his/her responsibility, take a care towards the upkeep, longevity and effectiveness of the plants in planned maintenance, responsive maintenance, improvements. The manager should review the cost effectiveness of existing maintenance arrangements and new ones being devised - on an ongoing basis.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
Lead a team of internal craftsmen supervisors, term maintenance contractors and ad-hoc suppliers and contractors.
Be the line manager for your craftsmen supervisor subordinates
Plan and procure planned and reactive maintenance activities including spares management , subcontractor management, method statement and risk assessment preparation, contractor procurement and customs compliance
Undertake some hands on maintenance tasks to show leadership and develop individual knowledge of the plant maintenance needs, encourage our policy of multiskilling across mech, electrician and operations disciplines
Manage the day to day working and training of the internal maintenance team with support from HR/administration. Attend to time worked, discipline, weekly and daily maintenance planning/prioritisation, vans, tools and consumable material needs for your team.
Attend to the responsibilities of a Senior Authorised Person in our H&S system which manages risks from many sources including explosive gas, LV electricity working at height and confined spaces
Use our PC based maintenance software in the management of maintenance tasks
Maintain a spares list including approximate values and re-order level recommendation, inventory of stock held in our name by vendors
Manage substantial reactive failures as incidents, formulating and procuring the responsive works to resolve the failure
Manage term suppliers for various industrial services contracts/relationships as well as spares policy, analysis and spares restocking incl procurement
Take your part in the wider management meeting system and management community, hosting as per the rota requirements.
Develope your own academic and trade knowledge as a practitioner, a manager and a part of the AD sub sector. Encourage and facilitate the same for your team.
The postholder must be qualified and or experienced as follows*:
A relevant trade training having completed an apprenticeship in a demanding engineering trade or science discipline, preferably HNC qualified
5 years experience in a process, utility or other mechanical-electrical systems environment including both a hands on and a desk based role in maintenance, operations management, commissioning or similar
Comprehensive experience applying modern operational H&S practice, PC based working and communications
Shall be physically fit to undertake demanding lone working, have the right to reside in the UK and have a current licence to drive in the UK
