Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team. Our business operates in a light engineering steel fabrication environment; steel cutting, welding, painting.

We are now looking for a skilled maintenance technician to join our business and be the front line person for the Repair, PPM and Facilities maintenance of our factory.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background, with hands on experience of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

The Maintenance Technician will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our organisation.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation. Repair or replace faulty components. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams to facilitate repairs and modifications. Maintain accurate PPM maintenance records and report on the status of equipment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring minimal disruption to production processes.

Skills

Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems used on plant machinery Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Installation of air lines and comnpressors desirable Solid electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot electrical faults effectively. Mechanical knowledge relevant to industrial machinery maintenance. Experience in preventative maintenance programmes and general plant upkeep. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, for documentation and communication purposes. A great all rounder who is unflappable under pressure.
