Doppelmayr Cable Car is a supplier of cable propelled people movers within the urban environments across the world.

We are expanding in the UK and currently managing three operational sites:

- Luton DART

- Birmingham airport Air-Rail link

- IFS Cloud Cable Car (formerly Emirates Air Line Cable Car)

This role is for the IFS Cloud Cable car, the first urban cable car system in the UK and crosses the river Thames in East London, having transported close to 19 million passengers since opening for the 2012 London Olympics.

We are looking for an experienced electrical/mechanical Technician to join our local team within a large multinational company. The successful candidate must have a sound knowledge in electrical / mechanical principles and solid experience within service, diagnosis and maintenance. Some of the core responsibilities are:

Job description



Operating the functions of the Cable Car system

Monitoring all aspects of the Cable Car from the control room or from the platforms

Diagnosing mechanical/electrical and some hydraulic derived problems

Repairing and replacing mechanical/electrical/hydraulic components

Performing daily planned maintenance on all components of the Cable Car

Keeping maintenance and inspection logs and reports up-to-date

Occasional greet and assistance of guests

Follow all issued operational protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers and personnel

Initial training of the system will be provided

The job requires working shifts (early/late) including weekends, in a frequent rotation 4on 2off pattern alternating between blocks of early and late shifts

Qualifications and Skills



The position requires an experienced mechanical/electrical technician with the following requirements:

Mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical work experience with high level of fault-finding skills

The ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Computer literate

Experienced Electrically Qualified Technician to City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent

Team worker with good communications and public relations skills

Ability to work at heights of up 90 meters (training provided)

Highly proficient in spoken and written English

Legal right to reside and work in the UK

You will be working as part of a team so a positive attitude and good communication skills are essential.
