Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our equipment and facilities. This role requires a strong background of care home regulations and required standards in areas such as legionella management, fire safety and checks, pat testing, hospital bed and bed rails checks, general repairs and maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the overall functionality of our site.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure standards are met. Conduct routine fire alarm checks and tests Conduct weekly checks on water temps for Legionella Conduct weekly checks on hospital beds, bed rails and air mattresses. check and repair wheelchairs Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment. Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems. Support care staff to maintain a clean home environment Carry out maintenance and basic repairs to equipment and furniture within the home PAT testing of new appliances

Experience

Proven experience in maintenance roles within the care home environments. Strong electrical experience, including troubleshooting PLCs and electrical circuits. Excellent communication skills in English to facilitate clear instructions and documentation. Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance tasks independently while adhering to safety standards. Prior experience in working within a care home dealing with different residents.
