An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician at Gladsmuir Grain Store. This is a full time, permanent position working 45 hours per week, 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Job Role:
To deliver site level day-to-day engineering support, taking ownership of maintenance activity and working within a small team of engineers in a multi-site environment. During the harvest period, operating site production equipment to ensure grain is handled in line with business standards.
Key Tasks:
Ensure breakdowns are communicated and prioritised correctly in conjunction with the leading engineering technician and site lead.
Follow previously agreed, scheduled work order tasks.
Ensure all site equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Organise larger planned work as required.
Take leadership on work orders and ensure that work quality and costs are controlled.
Participate and engage with site Safety Action Teams.
Engage with continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve plant equipment and process with considerations to reliability, maintainability, asset uptime, health, safety, environment and cost.
Seek to further knowledge and skills to be able to investigate and determine the root cause of system/asset failures and be able to maintain, repair systems or assets.
Complete all necessary Health and Safety training required to complete work safely within all sites.
Maintain good housekeeping standards within all work areas.
Work in accordance with accepted engineering practices/industry standards and maintain plant to a standard that does not detract from the reliability of the process/system.
Support the development, maintenance and implementation of automation, control and operational technology systems, including associated hardware, software and company standards.
Ensure adherence to automation and operational technology standards and policies.
Support implementation of procedures associated with the control and automation of plant and processes within the business.
Correct specification of replacement parts and stock holding to ensure that uptime is maintained.
Partake in counts of stock holding and ensure accuracy by issuing goods to work orders, verifying asset spares lists, carrying out regular counts and returning stock to correct locations.
Assist with planning of engineering tasks and specify material and spare components required for the completion of work.
Identifying maintenance tasks, determining materials, parts, labour and time needed and preparing clear job instructions to ensure the work can be executed efficiently and safely.
Ensure that data input is correct by identifying asset on which work is being completed and following requirements of reliability-centred maintenance basic work systems, particularly the completion of the 'ideal work order'.
Support with the training and supervision of new members of the engineering team and the development of the production team's maintenance skills.
Complete and record results of routine inspection of safety and work equipment used during completion of maintenance activities.
During the harvest period, operate plant and machinery including vehicles to ensure that production plans are maintained and achieved in accordance with pre-defined processes.
