Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical/PLC Bias)
Location: CTR (RECOVER) LIMITED, Unit 30 Marchington Industrial Estate, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire ST14 8LP
Shift Pattern: 06:00 - 15:00 (Monday - Friday)
Requirement: Flexibility for up to 2 hours daily overtime to meet operational demand.

CTR Recover is a specialist in resource recovery and industrial processing. We operate a high-volume facility utilising automation to drive sustainability. To maintain our operational flow, we are seeking a disciplined, technically proficient Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team.
The Role
This is a "hands-on" role requiring a blend of heavy mechanical repair and sophisticated electronic troubleshooting. You will be responsible for the uptime of a complex processing line consisting of heavy-duty industrial shredders, grinders, and integrated conveyor systems.
The core of your technical remit will involve the interrogation and optimisation of Siemens PLC architectures. You will ensure that the heartbeat of our facility is running at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Control: Lead fault-finding and program interrogation on Siemens S7 and TIA Portal systems.
Heavy Plant Maintenance: Provide reactive and preventative maintenance for high-torque shredders and grinders.
Material Handling Systems: Maintain and optimise conveyor networks, ensuring seamless material flow and sensor alignment.
Electronic Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), HMI panels, and industrial instrumentation.
Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) and PUWER regulations, ensuring all emergency stops and interlocking safety systems on heavy machinery are fully operational.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Proven background in a heavy industrial, recycling, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
Technical Skill: Deep familiarity with Siemens PLC environments is essential.
Mechanical Competency: Comfortable working on large-scale mechanical plant (shredders/conveyors) alongside electrical duties.
Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ/BTEC in a relevant Engineering discipline. 18th Edition is preferred.
Work Ethic: A commitment to the 06:00 start and the flexibility to stay until 17:00 when customer demand requires (Paid Overtime).
