Support Worker





CJP outreach Services are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Male Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred support to a 35-year-old man living in his own home. He is a wheelchair user who receives 2:1 support and enjoys animals, wrestling, socialising at the pub, and attending nightclubs.


About the Role





You will support an individual with a learning disability who has experienced early life trauma, attachment difficulties, and engages in behaviours of concern. Experience supporting people with cerebral palsy is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.



You will work as part of a dynamic, resilient team that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and encourages a positive and supportive working environment.


About You





We are looking for someone who is patient, reliable, resilient, and genuinely passionate about helping people live full and active lives.



You will ideally have experience in supported living, residential care, or other community-based support settings. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) would be an advantage.



A full driving licence is preferred, as the individual has access to a mobility vehicle.


Key Responsibilities




Deliver person-centred support that promotes independence and choice Build confidence and self-esteem through positive encouragement Support social activities, community engagement, and meaningful relationships Identify triggers and work proactively to reduce behaviours of concern Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, personal care, budgeting, and household tasks Support with medication, medical appointments, and maintaining good health Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records Work collaboratively with colleagues, family members, and external professionals to ensure holistic support

Hours





Support is provided on a 24/7 basis with a staffing ratio of 2:1.



You will work on a rotational rota covering 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend. The role may also include sleep-in duties.



The individual currently lives in Bradley Stoke but is due to move accommodation within the South Gloucestershire/Bristol area. There is an expectation that the established support team will move with him.
