UK OCCUPIER CONSULTING / LONDON

Management Accountant

(12 month FTC)

Role Purpose

To provide comprehensive financial support to the UK Consulting teams. Working within the UK Advisory and Transaction (A&T) Occupier business, the role will be integral to ensuring accurate monthly reporting and forecasting. The role involves interacting with multiple stakeholders in London and across Europe to control month end close, ensure compliance, and assist the Finance Business Partner (FBP) with their business deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive financial management and support the business with their management accounts

- Attend regular meetings with the FBP and client account/service line leads, understanding headcount changes, client wins/losses, revenue pipelines, risks & opportunities etc.

- Own the management accounting for the client accounts and service lines, working closely with the business/FBP to ensure accuracy.

- Prepare financial summaries/report packs and commentary that can be used with confidence in decision making with the FBP/business.

- Build relationships across the business and the wider finance team.

- Respond to the business financial queries and close out issues in a timely manner.

Own the monthly close process

- Own the full monthly close including manual journals, accruals, billing checks, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll reconciliations and analysis of key cost accounts and commentary. Working with a Finance Analyst (Warsaw) and Project Administrators (London) to deliver this whilst keeping the FBP informed.

- Monthly engagement with the Centre of Excellence (Bratislava) and other service lines across Europe to track cost and revenue intercompany movements.

- Identify trends and anomalies within P&L reviews for further investigations or cost saving measures.

Support forecasting and financial planning

- Revenue forecast - support business/FBP with revenue pipeline analysis and educate fee earners of revenue recognition principles.

- Headcount forecast - support business/FBP with recruitment strategy and team mix changes to deliver revenues.

- Variance analysis - understand movements between forecast and actuals to improve accuracy.

- Forecast summary - support business/FBP to ensure consolidated positions are understood.

Ensure compliance with procedures and processes.

- Compliance - prepare required information and commentary for compliance or reporting (eg external or internal auditors).

- Revenue recognition - ensure that revenue is recognised in correct periods and appropriate documentation is collected for central SOX testing.

- Balance sheet (working capital focus) - review balance sheet recs and monitoring the accruals, provisions and debt positions.

Person Specification/Requirements

- Working Towards/Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CA).

- Higher educational qualifications to \'A\' level (or equivalent)

- Strong Excel capability with Oracle (Peoplesoft) and Salesforce experience

- Previous experience of a service industry role, preferably a Consulting model

- Proven commercial acumen and ability to contribute to decision-making

- Confidence in building forecasting models and ad-hoc data analysis projects

- Results / task oriented with attention to detail and determination to complete work to a high standard.

- A self-starter and a drive for continuous/incremental process improvement.

- Excellent time management and organisational skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
