The UCL Finance department is divided into four Directorates: Finance Business Partnering, Finance Service Simplification, Financial Planning and Analysis and Finance Services. Together, they manage UCL's financial performance and strategy, providing vital services and advice across the University.
We currently have a vacant position for a Management Accountant within the Management Accounting team. The Management Accounts team is part of the Finance Business Partnering directorate.
In this job you'll work in partnership with the staff delivering, managing and leading finance activity in departments, to improve the accuracy of the University's management accounts, and overall financial management of UCL.
About the role
------------------
As one of our Management Accountants you will deliver all aspects of the University's management accounting, including month end activities, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis and cost management.
This will involve working closely with colleagues across the Professional Services and Vice-Provost areas to understand the activity underpinning our finances and improve the accuracy of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts. You will also need to work closely with the relevant Director of Operations or PS Director in their business areas.
This is an exciting job which will be fundamental in supporting the finance function to provide an excellent service to the University. There will be the opportunity to drive change and improve the accuracy of data, supporting the wider finance service delivery and team in providing better analysis, insight and support to the business.

About you

To do this job you'll need to be a fully qualified accountant with post qualification experience, including experience of delivering management accounts, budgets and forecasts within a complex organisation. You'll have a track record of financial leadership and driving continuous improvement.
If you have current knowledge of the funding environment for research and teaching, and previous experience of working in an HE institution, that's great. But if you haven't got these things, but tick our other boxes, we'd still love to hear from you!
