Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent Management Accountant to join their innovative client based in Arbroath in Angus. You will be joining a family business at heart, whose operations have grown internationally and whose team strive for excellence in their sector. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and interacting closely with the commercial team, you will play a key role in the reporting and analysis of monthly financial results whilst also completing core hands on financial control.

The Opportunity

As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for a broad range of activities with a focus on ensuring the delivery of monthly accounts and financial analysis to the team. You will produce monthly financial reports, providing insights to various stakeholders and also support the wider finance team in the completion of group accounts. Your role will include:


The preparation of monthly management accounts including variance analysis Finance business partner with various stakeholders to review budgets vs actual & drive improvements Balance sheet reconciliations and processing of journals Prepare VAT & Intrastat returns Assist in budget and forecast preparation and review Cash flow preparation and monitoring Review the monthly payroll processing by an outsourced provider Be actively involved in process & system implementation & improvement

Background and Experience

You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA etc) however qualified by experience will also be considered. You will have strong experience in hands on management accounting and financial control, particularly balance sheet reconciliations. You will have strong communication skills and a solutions driven mindset. You will have the ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
