We are seeking a Management Account who may be newly qualified or part qualified to have day to day exposure to the finance function assisting in various tasks. You will assist in delivery of the monthly management accounts for the group in a timely and accurate manner. The role will focus on developing systems and processes to ensure they are aligned to the business growth strategies. The role will also require the development of the controls so that are efficient and fit for purpose. The individual will gain the knowledge and experience to progress their own role and scope of work.

Key Responsibilities of the role:
DELIVERY
Assisting with the monthly management accounts including accruals, prepayments, analysis and reporting.
Update and maintenance of fixed asset register ensuring compliance to company policy.
Monthly bank reconciliations to include foreign currency.
Production of statutory and non-statutory external reporting including VAT returns, Intrastat & ONS returns.
Assist the credit control and account payable functions.
Support the implementation of system and processes changes across the finance department.
Assistance with the year-end statutory audit, J SOX audits and quarterly reviews.
Supporting finance leadership team in implementing proper systems of internal control and governance, within the business.
Ensuring systems of internal control are being adhered to.
Making suggestions for process improvements within the team where opportunities present themselves.
BUISNESS INSIGHT
Providing information and insight on key areas including cash, creditors and debtors and spend against budget
Working with other members of the finance team to understand workflows and cost drivers and help deliver insightful, timely information. This includes:
On-going monitoring of costs against budgets in all categories
Reporting of costs to departmental managers in relation to outputs
Working closely with the financial manager on providing any information or analysis requested on a wide range of matters.
PROJECTS
Assisting with implementing and updating procedures to increase efficiencies in the business.
Support the finance leadership team in ad hoc projects when requested.

Our Management Accountant will have/be:
Working towards professional Accountancy Qualification or recently fully qualified
3+ years' experience of working within a busy accounts department
Experience of working cross functionally
Basic knowledge of current UK GAAP
Possess a good degree of numeracy
Good oral and written communication skills
IT Literate, with specific emphasis on Excel competence
A highly committed individual
Able to communicate clearly at all levels, both internally and externally
Able to understand complex issues and implement solutions.
