Role Summary:



The Management Accountant role here at LCCC plays an integral role in the wider FP&A subsection of the Finance & Procurement Team by taking ownership of accurate reporting to both external and internal stakeholders, while also collaborating with the FP&A team and wider business to improve the FP&A reporting suite to the business.

Working closely with Reporting & Planning Manager (RPM) and Assistant Management Accountant (AMA), the Management Accountant will ensure accuracy and integrity of actuals reporting, and use their improvement mindset to identify and implement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities





The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below, covering both LCCC and ESC. However, this is an overview of the role and is not exhaustive. As the size of the schemes continues to grow it islikely that there will be changes to the role.

Month-End



Manage the Payroll journal postings, and support the Assistant Management Accountant (AMA) to finalise Management Accounts postings Ensure completion and accuracy of Balance Sheet Recs, and submission of the Trial Balance to DESNZ (Government Department)


Variance Analysis



Work with the wider FP&A Team to monitor variances, analyse drivers and causes, and assist with supporting commentary, to allow optimum use of company funds



Monthly CFO Presentation



Prepare the monthly summaries in Power BI for Operational Costs, Capital Costs and Specific views per scheme, for presentation to the CFO



Reporting Packs



Work with the AMA to prepare and send External Reporting Packs to DESNZ, Internal packs to departments, and reporting of KPIs to Performance team Provide additional tailored support to answer Departmental queries where required



Payroll



Own the Finance review of the monthly sign-off process, in collaboration with the People Team and the Reporting & Planning Manager (RPM) Further iterate and improve the process where the needs are identified



Process Improvements



Maintain existing Power BI Dashboards, while using curiosity to further innovate and iterate existing dashboards, and create new dashboards where the opportunity arises



Funding Request Management



Ensure non-Levy requests are prepared accurately, submitted and settled by DESNZ



Financial Accounts Submission



Work in collaboration with the wider Finance and Procurement team on the Excel accounts model, and the associated Trial Balance submissions to DESNZ.



Audit & Year-End Support



Assist on the year-end process and Audit Queries



Ad-hoc Support



Provide flexible support to the wider Finance and Procurement teams on any ad-hoc requirements or urgent projects. Where required, provide peer support and coaching to less experienced team members

Skills Knowledge and Expertise





Essential:



Qualifications & Experience



A fully qualified or finalist accountant with a recognised accounting body i.e., CIMA, ACCA; CIPFA; ICAEW; ICAI or ICAS or an equivalent qualification Commercial experience working in a finance role, including preparation of management reporting & variance analysis Produce work on a timely basis while maintaining quality



Technical Skills



Experience of using business intelligence tools and developing data visualisations Skilled with Microsoft Excel and user experience of an ERP system/software


Adaptability & Growth Mindset



Ability to identify, improve and streamline processes where required Flexibility to meet the challenges of a growing and changing business Proactive, 'can do' attitude, a growth mindset, and an ability to take full ownership of you work



Stakeholder Engagement



Ability to establish relationships with a range of people across the business to support delivery of business outcomes Good written and verbal communication skills



Desirable:



Advanced Technical Skills



Demonstrated use of Power BI to improve existing visualisations, and create new visualisations where the need arises Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel Previous experience of using SAGE X3 (ERP System
