A growing organisation in the health and public sector space is looking for a part-time
Management Accountant
to take full ownership of its finance function. This is a standalone role and is ideal for someone confident working at all levels, from bookkeeping through to board-level reporting and financial planning.
With finance currently outsourced, your first priority will be to bring core accounting functions back in-house and establish streamlined, robust processes. You will be responsible for all financial operations, reporting, compliance, and helping shape how finance supports the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and board-level reports
Preparing budgets, reforecasts and financial models to support planning and decision-making
Processing and coding sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and payment runs
Managing VAT returns, supplier queries, aged debtors and creditors
Supporting payroll processes and keeping accurate financial records
Leading the annual audit process, liaising directly with auditors and preparing all required documentation
Ensuring compliance with FRS 102, UK GAAP, MTD and other financial regulations
Reviewing and improving financial controls, systems, and procedures
Working closely with senior leadership to provide financial insight and analysis
Maintaining up-to-date, well-organised records that support day-to-day operations and long-term reporting
About you:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with strong practical experience
Confident preparing management accounts and managing end-to-end finance
Hands-on, detail-focused and comfortable working independently
Proficient in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar cloud-based software
Advanced Excel and strong data handling skills
Comfortable working flexibly in a small and growing organisation
