We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our financial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management activities, preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced accounting software and contribute to the organisation's financial health and growth. The Management Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with financial regulations while fostering a collaborative environment through mentoring colleagues.
Responsibilities
Prepare group monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards.
Ensure multiple entities and intercompany records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
Produce detailed financial commentary highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial forecasts.
Assist with the annual budgeting process, liaising with senior managers.
Monitor and track budget performance, providing analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
Managing closely the cashflow of the business, including accounts receivable and payable.
Update rolling forecasts and cash-flow projections.
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, audit requirements, and industry regulations.
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules and addressing auditor queries.
Provide financial guidance to senior managers to improve cost control and resource planning.
Analyse staffing, occupancy, and fee-related metrics to support operational performance.
Assist with financial modelling for new homes, contracts, or service developments.
Support the improvement and automation of financial reporting processes.
Ensure effective use of accounting software and implement enhancements where needed.
Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, PAYE and pension contributions when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement across the finance function.
Ad hoc projects supporting the strategic development of the business.
Skills
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Experience producing management accounts and detailed variance analysis.
Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRABLE
Experience in the care sector, health & social care, or another regulated environment.
Knowledge of payroll, funding, and fee structures relevant to care homes.
Experience with budgeting from a multi-site environment.
Experienced in using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll
Experience in financial modelling is advantageous but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
