Summary of the Management Accountant (12-months) role
In the role of Management Accountant, you will take ownership of delivering timely and accurate management accounts, whilst overseeing key financial processes across the site. Working closely with teams throughout the business and reporting to the Site Financial Controller, you will be involved in all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including month-end and reporting, budgeting, revenue management, billing and audit support.
This is a fixed-term contract position for a period of 12-months, working 37 hours based at our site in Cramlington, Northumberland. The role offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience within a structured setting.
Your responsibilities
Month end close process - support site financial controller in delivery of management accounts, including posting journals for accrual/prepayments, stock provisions & similar.
Running capital settlements and depreciation journals.
Balance sheet reconciliations and similar reports, including Fixed Asset Register and Capex in Progress schedules.
Keep up to date with invoicing forecast throughout the month and raise invoices upon instruction from Partnership Managers.
Support the annual external audit process, prepare analyses and liaise with external advisors in respect of Corporation tax compliance, R&D tax credits and capital allowances reviews).
Partner with the business to lock in short term billing forecasts (1 month / 3 months) and support in execution, including preparation and issue of invoices to customers.
Manage Order book and raise invoices - maintain log of orders won, phase billing milestones, work with project managers and operations to reforecast billing if production schedules change.

Requirements for the role
Previous experience within an accounting role is essential.
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) or ACA / CA qualifications preferred.
Knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT and regulatory compliance.
Practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
Solid IT skills, including proficiency in Excel
Skilled in the use of mainframe financial systems (preferably SAP) is essential
