At Halliday Automotive, we're not just selling cars -- we're driving innovation in motor retail. With our recent expansion to include Fiat and Abarth, we continue to grow as a trusted, family-led dealership with a proud reputation for customer service and operational excellence. As our business enters an exciting new phase, we're seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to help shape and guide our financial future.
This is a hands-on and influential role -- ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to add real value across the business. You'll be responsible for delivering timely and accurate management accounts, owning our cashflow and compliance processes, and playing a central role in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. You'll collaborate closely with the Finance Director and department heads to improve business insight, refine processes, and support decision-making across every area of the dealership.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, and divisional KPIs
Reconciling vehicle bonus, stock, service, and parts accounts
Streamlining internal finance processes and systems
Managing daily banking, credit control, and cash flow forecasting
Timely submission of VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC returns
Coordinating annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
Supporting managers in analysing divisional performance and driving profitability
Liaising with auditors and preparing for year-end accounts
Ensuring FCA and financial compliance
Submitting monthly OEM performance reports
Overseeing monthly payroll
Using data to inform commercial strategy
Supporting wider operational areas including HR and Health & Safety
What we're looking for:
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
Motor trade or dealership experience is highly desirable
Excellent Excel and IT skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis
Experience with Dealer Management Systems such as Pinnacle is a strong advantage
Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
Confidence to challenge, influence, and drive improvements across teams
Why join Halliday Automotive?
This is more than just a finance role -- it's a chance to be part of a growing leadership team in a business that values transparency, initiative, and collaboration. You'll play a critical role in our ongoing success and be recognised for the impact you make.
