Management Accountant
to join our team and play a key role in driving financial excellence and supporting our continued growth.
Purpose of the Role
As Management Accountant, you will be at the heart of the business--turning numbers into insight and strategy. Your role will focus on improving value across all areas by managing and reducing operational and production costs, while ensuring sound financial control and informed decision-making.
You will develop, analyse, and communicate financial information that supports business performance, compliance, and sustainable growth. Combining your technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness, you will guide both financial and non-financial stakeholders, helping shape the future of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with statutory and corporate standards.
Produce high-quality financial reports, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and monthly management accounts with insightful commentary.
Manage company cash flow across multiple bank accounts and currencies.
Monitor and refine production forecasts and capital expenditure schedules.
Oversee the financial management of UK and European grant-funded projects--planning, budgeting, and reporting to Innovate UK and EU platforms.
Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including working capital analysis and departmental expenditure tracking.
Report on company assets and liabilities, ensuring accurate reconciliations and valuations.
Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Continuously review and improve accounting practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Liaise with auditors and external bodies to ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts.
Contribute proactively to the local management team, providing financial insight and strategic recommendations.
Undertake any additional duties required to support the company's ongoing success.
About You
You'll bring a balance of technical expertise and commercial understanding, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Essential:
Recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
Strong technical accounting skills and proven financial reporting experience.
Proficient understanding of management information systems.
Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with both financial and non-financial colleagues.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
A proactive attitude with the ability to influence and drive positive change.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience with foreign currency and group accounting.
