We are a leading manufacturer of innovative and effective feed supplements and external applications for horses, pets and people based in West Sussex.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized person to join our finance team.
Reporting to our Group Finance Director and supported by our bookkeeper, the perfect candidate will be someone with an excellent understanding of financial statements and accounting processes. The role involves managing daily banking, Purchase, Sales and Nominal ledgers, input of data to SAGE 200, VAT, cash flow forecasts, to final accounts for our auditors. Preparation of the critical monthly financial and management accounts for review with the directors.
This role would be particularly suitable for a Practice trained accountant's first move to industry.
The candidate will be required to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, providing analysis and comparison information in a timely manner. Several years of training in an accounting firm will be highly valued or years of experience working in a similar role in a company with multiple sales channels.
Your responsibilities will include:
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable
Profit-and-loss statements
VAT return preparation
Expense reports
Cost reduction proposals
Budgets and forecasting activities
Monitoring company accounts and conducting quarterly reviews
Preparing year-end file for audit and dealing with queries
Presenting budgets and reports to upper management
Additional Duties:
Credit Control
Record keeping
Account reconciliation
Invoice processing
Data entry
The successful candidate must have/be able to:
Have proven experience of working in a similar environment
Experience of Sage 200 or Sage 50
Experience of working with multiple sales channels and ecommerce
Some Payroll experience would be a bonus
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank holidays
Education: Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
Experience: Accounts Management: 5 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification: ACA (preferred), ACCA or AAT considered
This is office based in Southwater, West Sussex on a full-time contract.
