We are seeking a proactive and commercially focused Management Accountant to support the financial management of our single-site commercial vehicle and motorhome dealership (20MN Turnover), which operates as a subsidiary of a large and diverse corporate group (600MN Turnover)
This role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, ensuring compliance with group reporting requirements and providing financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making at site level. The successful candidate will act as a key finance contact for the dealership while maintaining close alignment with group finance standards, controls, and timelines.
Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with group reporting deadlines and standards
Production and analysis of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow information
Completion of monthly accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Detailed financial analysis of dealership performance across all departments (new & used vehicles, aftersales, parts, service, etc.)
Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, with clear commentary for both site management and group finance
Preparation and submission of manufacturer composite and performance reports
Monitor and control vehicle stock, stock funding, margins, and WIP
Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, internal controls, and governance requirements
Act as the main finance liaison between the dealership and group finance, auditors, and external stakeholders
Support the year-end accounts process and audit requirements
Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support to dealership management
Essential:
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a retail or operational business
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial and reporting systems
Ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both operational management and group stakeholders
Desirable:
Experience within a motor dealership or automotive retail environment
Familiarity with dealer management systems. (e.g. Pinewood, Kerridge, CDK) Pinewood/Pinnacle is preferred is used by the site.
Experience working within a group structure with formal reporting and governance requirements
