Job Purpose
This is a varied role supporting all aspects of the accounting function for our UK and SA offices with predominantly management accounts focus.
The management accountant will have responsibility for assisting in producing timely and accurate management reporting and will play an active role in helping to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management Accounts
Plays a supporting role in producing consolidated results within deadlines
Prepares board packs in collaboration with Group Finance Manager, including analytical
commentary and insight Assumes responsibility for key month-end tasks, including:
Monthly P&L variance analysis versus comparatives and budgets
Departmental business review packs and reporting
Prepares draft results and attend draft results meeting with the C suite
Business partners and reviews P&L with heads of departments
Takes responsibility for prepayments and accruals
Prepares various analyses of P&L and BS to support month-end
Revaluates Forex
Prepares and posts journals to the general ledger
Is responsible for the Perspective Risk entity payroll
Audit
Plays a leading role in delivery of year end statutory audit in relation to both group and subsidiaries
Is a key contact for relationship management and information requests to auditors
Ensures continuous development of process and control environment and mitigates auditor raised control weaknesses
Other
Assists and provides analysis to support budget preparations
Advises on ad-hoc AP queries to support process improvements
Experience and Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Experience of month end processes in a multi entity, group environment
Experience of audit and audit control environment
Excellent Excel Skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work without supervision
Self-motivated and able to adapt to a changing environment
Excellent articulation and command of the English language
Strong attention to detail with high personal standards for accuracy and quality of work
Methodical approach
Ability to work towards strict deadlines and in a fast-moving environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central ERP solution with Cognos, Sage and Xero being desirable
Experience working in a private equity environment desirable but not essential

Budgeted salary range for this role is 45000 - 55,000 and Benefits.
