What's the role about




This role is part of the finance team and is responsible for supporting with the production of the monthly group management accounts, taking ownership of head office and central costs month-end accounting and reporting across multiple regions. It involves working closely with central budget holders providing detailed cost centre reporting and variance analysis, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with the year-end audit and driving continuous improvements to financial reporting processes.


Who you are




Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA). Retail or consumer experience is preferable but not essential. Experience with Business Central is advantageous. Advanced excel skills with the ability to analyse large data sets. Able to demonstrate agility and sound judgment when balancing multiple urgent priorities and adapting to evolving demands. Organised, inquisitive, and detail-oriented, with the flexibility to thrive in dynamic and evolving environments.

What you'll be doing




Supporting in the production of the group monthly management accounts. Take full ownership of head office and central costs reporting, including the preparation and posting of monthly accruals and prepayments for the UK, US and EU locations. Perform variance analysis of actual to budget and last year spend, providing detailed analysis and explanation of any variances. Distribute monthly cost centre reports to budget holders, highlighting variances and areas requiring further review. Prepare detailed cost reports for employee travel and expenses, temporary staff costs and product samples, highlighting any areas of overspending. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with particular focus on accrual and prepayment reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities. Support budget owners with understanding their monthly cost breakdowns including meeting with the heads of departments. Strive for the continuous improvements in financial reporting processes, utilising the capabilities of the accounting system. Assist the Group Financial Accountant with the year-end audit deliverables. Support the FP&A team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Group Financial Controller or Finance Director.
