We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Management Accountant to manage our company's financial records and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting and payroll operations, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy. The ideal candidate will support the finance team, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with company standards and payroll regulations.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Perform account reconciliations, including for bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closing processes.
Post bank statements to Sage.
Complete national statistics returns as required.
Process payments for DEAs, AEOs, CSA.
Handle payments for PAYE/NIC/CIS.
Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules for preparing quarterly management accounts.
Maintain Fixed Asset and lease asset records.
Prepare PSA tax schedule and make payment.
Prepare and manage Partnership, GKR Scaffolding, GKR Logistics and Frindsbury Properties Accounts, including VAT return and payments to HMRC.
Overheads plotted and confirmed with Commercial Director on a monthly basis.
Annual Daywork rate review.
Occasional sustainability data review.
Prepare and pay sub contractors, enter on CIS.
Prepare and send monthly CIS Statements to sub contractors including monthly CIS return submissions.
Prepare and report Gender Pay Gap report.
Support the annual audit process, including preparing reports and coordinating with external auditors.
Payroll Processing:
Assist with payroll processing during periods of absence or annual leave cover.
Process weekly THT forms, verifying correct pay rates.
Review expense sheets and post expense journals.
Prepare wages reconciliation and reconcile overheads spreadsheet.
Complete overheads spreadsheet accurately and on time.
Demonstrate knowledge of tax coding and payroll procedures.
