Salary Range: 45,000 - 55,000 (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced, immediately available Management Accountant looking for a meaningful role where your work directly supports services that improve the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to join our finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact by strengthening financial insight, supporting operational decision-making, and enhancing financial governance within a growing, purpose-driven organisation.
Your Role
As our Management Accountant, you will provide high quality financial reporting, analysis, and modelling to support the organisation's strategic goals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy, improving efficiency, and supporting senior leaders in making informed decisions across our children's residential care services.
Support the month end process, including journals, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
Prepare, review, and analyse monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis, insights, and recommendations.
Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Build and maintain financial models to support planning and new initiatives.
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and best practice standards.
Support process improvements and help implement enhanced systems and reporting solutions.
What we are looking for
Essential Criteria:
Available to start December 2025
At least 3 years' experience in management accounting or financial analysis within an SME.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Confident in financial modelling and experienced with accounting software.
Able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Desirable Criteria:
Part-Qualified ACCA / CIMA (beneficial but not essential).
Experience using Sage, Hourly Time and attendance systems, Invoice capture and approvals systems
