We are an established business with our head office in Northwich who are expanding and growing and are now looking for a new Management Accountant to join our finance team.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial processes and reporting. Acting as a key liaison between the FD and the finance team, this role ensures that ledgers and reporting processes are followed, delivering meaningful insights into business performance. The Management Accountant will consolidate financial results across all group companies, prepare detailed monthly reporting packs and drive continuous improvement in systems and processes.

This role is pivotal to aligning financial operations with the commercial goals of the business.

Key Responsibilities



Manage and support the finance team, ensuring adherence to processes and controls. Ensure that ledgers are maintained accurately by members of the team and in line with internal controls and accounting standards. Act as the go-to person for finance team queries and guide the resolution of complex issues with support from the FD. Continuously review and improve processes and systems across the finance function. Prepare the month end trial balance, posting all month end journals and work with the FD to produce a full consolidated month-end reporting pack. Deliver monthly variance analysis against budget and prior periods. Provide in-depth gross margin analysis overall, by production cell, and by customer. Prepare ad hoc reports and financial analyses requested by the FD or other senior stakeholders. Support the FD in ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations, including Companies House filings, HMRC requirements, and international entities. Manage the ledgers and coordinate with accountants for overseas subsidiaries. Support the FD in organisation and response to year-end and bank audits, managing audit queries effectively. Prepare VAT returns and liaise with HMRC as required. Maintain oversight of other tax compliance, working with internal and external advisors as required. Maintain and manage the company's Confidential Invoice Discounting (CID) facility. Manage the credit insurance cover for the customer ledger, ensuring adequate protection on key customers

Qualifications & Experience



Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) Similar experience in a management accountant or other finance role. Proficient in financial systems and tools; confident in Excel and working with large data sets. Experience working in a mid-sized business environment, ideally with international subsidiaries or group structure.
