About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-driven Trust at an exciting stage in our development. You will be a key member of the Trust's Finance team, working closely with the CFO and Headteachers to help to deliver the organisation's strategic objectives.
The Trust has grown sustainably since its inception from a single academy to 9 and you will be supporting decision making through the Trust and helping with the implementation of new systems that will enable the Trust to better track our success.
The role is directly responsible to the Chief Finance Officer, who will support and develop your career.
Purpose of the role:
To take operational responsibility for the Trust's financial support to nominated schools, working cooperatively to ensure high quality, accurate, complete and timely management information
Support Head Teachers and school-based colleagues by attending local governing body meetings from time to time to report on financial and budget performance
With the Head of Finance, assist on the process for building nominated schools annual and 3-year budgets in accordance with Trust and ESFA requirements
Work at all times in accordance with the Trust's Finance Policies and Procedures and maintain a full understanding of these
What We're Looking For:
Good general level of education with 5 GCSE Level C and above (including Maths and English)
Relevant Accounting qualification, such as AAT Level 4 or equivalent
At least 24 months experience in a multi-disciplinary finance function.
Previous experience of working in an educational finance environment in a multi academy Trust or equivalent education setting .
Strong communication skills.
A proactive, problem solving approach.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
