Main Purpose of the Role
The Management Accountant will be central to ensuring the quality, integrity, and reporting of financial data from across the organisation. The postholder will be responsible for the daily monitoring, reconciliation and accuracy of financial data transfers between various internal systems and the core finance platform.
A key aspect of the role involves working closely with budget holders, providing them with up-to-date financial information, and ensuring that any variances from budget or forecast are identified promptly and addressed with appropriate corrective actions. The successful candidate will also play a significant role in supporting the implementation of a new finance system over the coming months, contributing to its successful rollout and integration.
While not essential, a working knowledge of payroll processing would be advantageous, as the role includes responsibilities related to payroll data compilation and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities
As our Managing Accountant, you will be at the heart of our Finance Team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effective delivery of financial data that supports all areas of Concept Housing. You will also be responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis and reporting that informs and shapes strategic decision-making across the organisation. You'll be responsible for preparing detailed monthly financial reports, comparing actual performance against forecasts and previous years, and work directly with budget holders to interpret results, identify variances, and implement corrective actions where required.
In addition, you'll take the lead in reviewing cost centres after each month-end, ensuring that all income and expenditure are accurately coded and any discrepancies are swiftly resolved. You'll also manage the quarterly distribution of budget templates, to assist budget holders to submit accurate and timely financial plans.
Your role will be central to the organisation's budgeting and forecasting processes. Engagement will be key to enabling regular discussions with colleagues to jointly investigate significant variances. You will ensure compliance with financial regulations at all times and that internal any issues are escalated to the Financial Controller when necessary. You'll also compile and present financial insights to the CEO and Executive Team, helping to shape the organisation's strategic direction.
In collaboration with the Benefits Team, you'll ensure accurate reconciliation of housing benefit and council tax-related income and expenditure. You'll also design and implement effective processes for managing provider recharges and contribute to the development of systems to track rent and manage arrears, all of which are vital to maintaining financial transparency and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will also include managing payroll processes, from compiling data and processing payments to preparing statutory reports for HMRC. You'll ensure that all payroll activity is accurate, timely, and compliant with current legislation.
Finally, you'll play an active role in supporting your team at all times, stepping in during absences, delivering training to new starters and budget holders, and championing a culture of financial awareness and continuous improvement within your team and the organisation as a whole.
