Job Description

The role of a PQ Management Accountant within the transport & distribution industry requires a proactive individual to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Based in Birmingham, this position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in accounting and finance.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to support decision-making.
• Provide variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
• Management of Weekly Financial P&L including revenue analysis, monthly and year end reporting. While being able to consolidate the
• information into concise reports
• Identifying cost savings and efficiencies
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Support the preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
• Monitor and improve financial controls and processes.
• Analyse key financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

A successful PQ Management Accountant should have:

• Actively studying towards accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to business partner at all levels within network
• Strong analytical skills and able to present results in a simple and clear manner
• Previous experience in a similar role within accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Reporting Suite applications
• Knowledge of the transport & distribution industry would be advantageous.
• A detail-oriented approach with excellent organisational skills.
