In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This is a hands-on and varied role, working closely with a small transactional finance team of three. You will take full ownership of the monthly management accounts and play a key role in ensuring the integrity and insightfulness of financial information. Key Accountabilities:
Lead the month-end process
Lead on all aspects of budgeting and forecasting
Lead on the year end audit - liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
Preparation of monthly management accounts including fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, prepayments and journals
Provide financial analysis with commentary, and insights to support decision-making and drive business performance
Statutory/regulatory returns including VAT (partial exemption), PAYE, Corporation tax
Monthly bank reconciliations across multi-bank
Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
Weekly cash flow forecasting and updates
Work closely with other departments to provide financial guidance and support
Offering professional input on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
Effectively communicating financial data to non-financial managers
Evaluating, developing and managing financial systems & policies, and identifying opportunities for improvement
Coaching and mentoring members within the finance team
Required skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/accounting; part-qualified/fully qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at
least three years
of management accounting experience
Solution focused and hands-on with the ability to prioritise effectively own work in order to meet deadlines
Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data
Meticulous attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
A proactive mindset, with confidence to suggest and implement process improvements
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
Ability and willingness to quickly absorb new information and work in a rapid change environment
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate confidently and professionally at all levels within the organisation
Strive for excellent business support and embrace customer service demeanour and critical thinking
Ability to work optimally cross-functionally with various departments throughout the organisation
Experience with Sage Intacct is considered an advantage Willingness to be fully office based
