Are you a qualified management accountant looking for your next challenge in a friendly, values-driven company? Hillier Nurseries is seeking a Management Accountant to join our busy finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role will provide maternity cover and also support the implementation of a new finance system.


This is a full-time role based at our Hillier Support Centre in Ampfield, near Romsey. Applicants must be able to commute to this location. The salary for this position is circa 43,000 per annum, depending on experience.


As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will include:


Producing monthly management accounts Posting month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments Analysing costs, variances, and authorising purchase invoices Reconciling balance sheet accounts Assisting with the annual budgeting process Analysing utilities spend Supporting the year-end external audit Liaising with internal and external stakeholders Producing ad hoc reports and contributing to finance-related projects

We're seeking someone who is:

A qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline IT literate, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 Analytical and detail-oriented A confident communicator, capable of presenting financial information to non-financial colleagues Organised, flexible, and a team player Able to work to deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy Professional, ethical, and dependable
