Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll take ownership of month-end, compliance, and financial control across the P Louise Group. You'll oversee the finance operations for our UK trading company, US entity, Trafford Centre retail store, and P Louise Cafe, while helping to develop and support a growing finance team.
This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who wants to be close to the numbers, improve processes, and grow within a dynamic brand.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End & Reporting
Lead and complete month-end across all entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review all stock and sales reconciliations, accrued and deferred income, and management accounts.
Prepare consolidated reports and commentary for senior management.
Oversee intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
Tax & Compliance
Manage US sales tax filings (via Avalara) and ensure timely submission and payment.
Oversee UK VAT returns, payments, and reconciliations.
Support year-end tax packs and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
Audit & Year-End
Prepare full audit files and reconciliations for all entities.
Lead the delivery of year-end schedules and respond to audit queries.
Stock & Creditors
Oversee stock creditor listings and supplier reconciliations.
Ensure purchase ledger accuracy and support clearing of legacy balances.
Payroll
Review and approve monthly payroll submissions prepared by HR.
Cross-check payroll inputs against approved timesheets and commission structures.
Team Support & Development
Support and guide the existing finance team, assisting with month-end and reconciliations.
Train and mentor junior team members as the function grows.
Finance Administration
Maintain finance calendars and filing systems.
Manage payments, bank reconciliations, and cashflow forecasts.
Support system improvements across Xero, Shopify, Avalara, and related platforms.
Assist the Head of Finance with ad hoc analysis, budgets, and reporting.
About You
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.
Proven experience managing month-end and reporting processes.
Excellent attention to detail and strong Excel and reconciliation skills.
Confident working with multiple entities, systems, and departments.
Experience with Xero, Shopify, or Avalara is highly desirable.
TikTok Shop experience is desirable.
Ecommerce and Beauty experience is desirable
ERP system knowledge is desirable.
Positive, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
