The Management Accountant will play a key role in the finance team by preparing accurate and timely management accounts, analysing key financial data, as well as carrying out the day-to-day accounting functions. This role requires close collaboration with operational and commercial teams to provide insights that drive efficiency, profitability, and informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of draft monthly management accounts to present to management for review.
Explanation of variances to budget and prior year in management accounts.
Preparation of accruals, prepayments and intercompany journals.
Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process ensuring complete and accurate.
Production of monthly departmental expenditure reports for department heads.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and system enhancements.
Weekly steel reporting and reconciliation.
Weekly factory labour reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with manufacturing and commercial teams to track and understand cost drivers.
Ensure adherence to reporting requirements and deadlines on monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
Ad hoc reports / project work and analysis as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
Experience of variance analysis & investigation
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Experience of month end processes (min 3 years)
Experience in a manufacturing or construction-related industry (preferred)
