We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented qualified Accountant to join our team based in our office in Tewkesbury.
About you:
This role would suit a newly qualified ACCA or CIMA, who is looking for their next step post-qualification.
Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Taxation, you would have a range of responsibilities including statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT submissions and payroll for our external client base. The areas which you will take the lead in is customisable based on your individual strengths and qualification type.
Part of the organisation specialises in supporting the financial needs for firms of solicitors. Exposure to this environment would be preferred but it is not essential and should not be a reason not to apply if you have not yet had experience within the legal sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounts: preparation and review of monthly/quarterly accounts including cashflow forecasting.
Bookkeeping supervisor: supervising the bookkeeping team and reviewing monthly reporting and compliance deadlines
Client Support: provide timely, proactive financial and tax advice to both clients and internal teams
Client & Internal Communication: liaise with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients, and collaborate with internal teams regarding year-end adjustments and tax matters
Timely Reminders: send reminders to clients to ensure on-time payment of Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment liabilities
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA qualified
Experience: you should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. You will be able to evidence solid experience in: management accounts preparation, VAT returns, and payroll
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel). Knowledge of Xero and Sage is essential. Knowledge of Solicitor accounts packages such as ALB, and ActionStep. Leap is desirable but not essential.
Salary is dependent on experience.
