We are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading SME Manufacturing business in Wakefield to recruit a Management Accountant. This is a newly created, high-impact, highly visible role, reflecting the company's impressive expansion in recent years. It is an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Management Accountant to contribute to strategic growth.
As the Management Accountant, the role will work closely with Finance Director and Financial Controller , you will play a key role in providing timely and accurate Management Accounts while providing commercial insight to make informed decisions. This role offers an outstanding career progression for a hands-on Management Accountant looking to make a tangible impact on a growing SME business.
Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts including comprehensive variance analysis and insightful commentary.
  • Analyse P&L statements, budgets, and forecasts to guide decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Business Partner with operational teams to improve cost control and profitability.
  • Maintain and reconcile key financial reports, ensuring data integrity.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and assist with audits.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, translating financial data into commercially valuable insights.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:
  • CIMA, ACCA, ACA Qualified or Finalist
  • Demonstrated expertise in management accounting.
  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced SME environments.
  • Advanced IT skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience using ERP systems.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Manufacturing, Retail or FMCG experience would be advantageous.
