About us:

We are a group of privately owned manufacturing companies based in Ecclesfield, Sheffield.

We are looking for a management accountant to join our busy finance department.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity to join a growing group of businesses. You'll be part of a small, dedicated finance team, supporting the day-to-day running of the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

This is very much a hands-on role, and the work will be split between 2 areas of the group :

For one of our group companies this role will cover all aspects of the accounts function - purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash control, project cost control, stock control (ensuring accurate reporting), budget & forecast preparation, management accounts & stat accounts preparation.

For this role you will be the only accounts representative, reporting to the business directors via the group FD.

For the remaining companies - the remit will be as part of the team, but primarily

Sales Ledger & Credit Control

Raise and process sales invoices and credit notes Issue statements and reminders in line with company policy
Expenses & Reporting

Reconcile company credit cards and staff expenses Weekly payment processing for off-site contractors
Management accounts

Review of nominal ledger and trial balance Posting journals Accruals and prepayments. Balance sheet reconciliations. VAT returns. Preparation of draft accounts

General:

Provide finance and admin support as required, including payroll processing support

The Person:

Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or Finance role, looking for the next step Preferably with AAT or similar qualification, but not essential
Confident using Sage accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, all of our group uses Sage accounts, alongside a separate manufacturing system

Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure Excellent communication and organisational skills Professional, trustworthy, and able to work independently
We offer a 4 or 5 day working week (covering 38 hours over the week); all the team is fully site-based.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 29,000.00 per year
