Management Accountant

Wirral

Due to continued growth, we are seeking for a Management Accountant to join the finance team at the Wirral Head Office of one of clients. We are looking for a strong individual, who is keen for a new opportunity where they will be able to come in and make an impact within a busy and dynamic team.

The Role

The Management Accountant will play a key role in providing accurate, timely financial information to support business decision-making. Working closely with operational and commercial managers. You will also be responsible for producing management accounts, analysing financial performance, and supporting commercial and project teams with cost and margin analysis. Some other key role responsibilities include:

Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings. Production of monthly reporting packs, variance analysis, and commentary for senior management. Maintain accurate cost tracking for manufacturing and construction projects. Analyse job costing, margins, and overhead allocations to support commercial decisions. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections. Support external audit and year-end processes. Provide financial insight to project managers and operational teams, ensuring cost control and profitability. Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and reporting processes. Support the Finance Manager and wider leadership team with ad hoc analysis and projects as required.

Ideal Candidate

The business is a growing organisation, operating within the modular manufacturing and construction sector, delivering high-quality, innovative building solutions across the UK. Having exposure to this would be an advantage. We are also ideally looking for:

Part-qualified, (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with strong employment background Proven experience within the construction, manufacturing, or modular build sectors (required). Strong understanding of cost accounting, project costing, and WIP reporting. Advanced Excel skills and confident working with ERP/accounting systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines with strong attention to detail. Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
