Job Description


The post holder will: -

  • Help in the process of monthly financial information, the reconciliation of
the General Ledger to feeder systems, and the investigation of financial
queries from service managers.
  • Provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative support service.
  • Work on their own initiative and be responsible for organising meetings
for staff within the department and preparing papers as required, liaising
with other Health Board Staff and external organisations.
  • Be able to communicate, and demonstrate excellent communication skills
and have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

A vacancy has arisen for a Management Accountancy Assistant based in the Finance Department located at Bronllys Hospital.

This position will support the Management Accounts team. The key elements of the post are to support the production of accurate monthly financial information, to complete and input journals and to produce financial reconciliations.

Consideration will be given to part time applicants that meet the criteria.

If you are a Powys Health Board employee this post may be offered on a secondment basis, if secondment required and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

Provide a range of clerical and secretarial services as directed.
Provide support and cross cover within the department.
Manage incoming correspondence, dealing with routine items and action
reminders as instructed.
Track correspondence and monitor follow up actions to ensure their completion.
Organise meetings, including the booking of venues, equipment and coordinate attendance.
Other duties to include the use of the internet to retrieve information,
photocopying, filing and the extraction of files and arranging hospitality for
visitors and guests as required.
Maintain a high standard of confidentiality when dealing with day-to-day
enquiries and general correspondence from colleagues in the Health Board and
members of the public.
Assist in the production of the monthly staffing analysis (Nominal Roll), and
reconcile it to the General Ledger.
Reconcile the monthly budget adjustments to the General Ledger (Oracle).
Upload monthly General Ledger journals prepared by the Finance Manager.
