Job Description


The Manager, Corporate Communications, plays an important role in promoting and building understanding of LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s business across UK and international media. Working closely with the Director, Corporate Communications, the individual will help manage external communications activities for the Group, including planning and executing promotion of LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s financial results, corporate initiatives and M&A. They will also help manage media engagement for members of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Executive Committee, in addition to collaborating with global colleagues to support reactive media enquiries and proactive outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and implementation of strategic communications plans at the Group corporate and business level.
  • Provides strategic media relations counsel to various business heads, building trusted internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to position the Group, its business divisions, products and services in the global and US media, building understanding of LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s equity story.
  • Leverages existing media relationships and explore new opportunities with global media to build understanding of LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s operations.
  • Sources new channels and publications to build LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s equity brand in the UK and globally.
  • Serves as a trusted spokesperson to the market.
  • Drafts by-lined articles, press releases, FAQs, key messages, by-lined articles and other written materials to a high standard.
  • Partners and collaborates with colleagues to deliver and execute communications plans.
  • Ensures media enquiries are handled in a timely and professional manner.
  • Close collaboration with other internal teams, including Government Relations and Regulatory Strategy, Marketing, Investor Relations, Legal and People to deliver a holistic corporate communications strategy.
Leadership & Management Responsibilities/expertise:
  • Engages with media contacts, managing reactive and proactive situations.
  • Supports the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies that support organisational objectives.
  • Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex/technical information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
  • Confident partnering at the most senior level (ExCo/ Board).
  • Ability to lead on specific projects/ campaigns with supervision often to an accelerated timetable.
  • Work in close partnership with global comms team.
  • Contribution to thought leadership for the Group.
  • Adapts to rapidly changing events and environments while accurately judging priorities and keeping track of details.
  • Works effectively with others and adapts ways of working to achieve a common goal.
  • Engages in discussion to reach an agreement and create outcomes, affecting the action, behaviours, or opinions of others.
  • Shows ability to come up with new ideas and novel approaches to problems and establish solutions through different methods.
Technical / Job Functional Knowledge:
  • Proven track record in PR/communications with experience of operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • An understanding of navigating an evolving political, macroeconomic and regulatory landscape.
Business And Sector Expertise:
  • Financial sector PR or media experience in banking, asset management or market infrastructure highly desirable.
  • Experience in publicly listed company communications across financial, corporate, and issues management.
  • Experience with international companies and governments; working with highly regulated businesses that operate in variety of geographic markets.
