The Product Management Manager will support client facing teams in the provision of banking products to their clients, this will include responding to queries and providing ongoing support, education, and awareness of both the banking product and relevant processes and procedures.
A key responsibility of the Product Management Manager is to support the Senior Manager to provide oversight of the regulations impacting the Banking business and products including monitoring product performance and regulatory reporting. The role holder will also be instrumental in implementing any changes to regulation ensuring that the processes and procedures reflect these.
The Product Management team, Wealth Management Europe Banking is responsible for managing all aspects of the suite of banking products which are available across UK and CI. This includes but is not limited to client & product approvals, exception management, compliance with relevant regulations, ongoing reporting and monitoring, product documentation and client communication. The team requires a strong understanding of the WME Banking product proposition and how it is managed.
What will you do?
Provide full support to the Senior Manager and team.
Demonstrate knowledge and confidence in providing advice to the business about banking products and processes.
Counsel client facing professionals with regards to day-to-day banking issues and queries, acting as an escalation point. Identify trends in queries received and identifying ways to minimise these through changes to products and procedures, or by offering training, coaching and support.
Develop, monitor, and deliver MI reporting on KPIs and KRIs on the Banking team and their products.
Oversee, maintain, review, and enhance products, policies, and procedures in line with the overall growth plans for WME Banking maintaining a focus on risk reduction, increasing efficiency, and ensuring no key person dependencies exist.
Ensure procedures are up to date, observed and adhered to by employees, including formal monitoring and reporting.
Approving the onboarding of new banking clients, banking products and any changes to the control and ownership of existing client records.
Review and sign off exceptions to procedures and any fee waiver/refund requests.
First-line of defense control monitoring, including but not limited to exceptions, restraints, and warnings, dormant, deceased, or inactive accounts, escalating issues as appropriate. Use findings to educate and implement corrective action.
Responsible for ongoing regulatory reporting e.g. JDCS, FSCS, Jersey Dormant Scheme, CoP, NRA, REP 18, ensuring reporting deadlines are adhered to.
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory environment and requirements as they pertain to the Banking business and ensure relevant procedures are in place to support these.
Function as key point of contact during process reviews, compliance monitoring programme and internal audits, taking ownership for the creation of any action plans and implementation of corrective action.
Work with Compliance and Operational Risk to review current policies and identify and implement recommendations ensuring that procedures are up to date.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Financial services industry experience and knowledge, specifically previous experience of working in a bank.
Knowledge of domestic and international payment systems.
Proven interpersonal skills for working with a diverse range of stakeholders/partners.
Relationship building and partnering skills with own team and other stakeholders.
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of financial services/banking regulation in the UK and Channel Islands.
