Job Description

Manager of Gastro pub.

Role to include Bar and Restaurant management of village pub.

Duties include responsible for the day-to-day operations, profitability, and staff management of a public house, ensuring smooth service, customer satisfaction, and legal compliance. Key duties include staff recruitment, HR Compliance, training, and scheduling; managing budgets and finances, including stock control and ordering; maintaining cleanliness and safety standards; developing promotional events; and providing excellent customer service.

Staff Management

Recruiting and Training:
Hire, train, and motivate bar staff, bartenders, and kitchen personnel to ensure high service standards.

Scheduling:
Create efficient staff rotas to match expected customer volume and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.

Supervision:
Oversee daily staff performance, address issues, and ensure all staff members adhere to policies and procedures.

Operations and Inventory

Stock Control:
Manage inventory levels, perform stock takes, order supplies, and handle deliveries to maintain a well-stocked bar.

Menu Management:
Develop and update food and drink menus to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.

Maintenance:
Ensure the premises, equipment, and cellars are kept clean, well-maintained, and in good order for service.

Financial and Administrative Duties

Budgeting:
Manage pub finances, monitor costs, and strive to meet or exceed sales targets and profitability goals.

Record Keeping:
Maintain statistical and financial records, and use point-of-sale systems to track sales and customer behavior.

Vendor Relations:
Establish and maintain good relationships with breweries, suppliers, and other vendors.

Customer Service and Experience

Customer Satisfaction:
Ensure a welcoming atmosphere and high standards of service to keep customers happy and encourage repeat business.

Problem Solving:
Address customer issues and resolve conflicts between patrons or staff to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.

Promotions:
Organize and promote special events, such as live music, quizzes, or themed nights, to attract customers and increase sales.

Legal and Safety Compliance

Licensing:
Stay informed about licensing legislation and ensure all operations comply with local laws.

Health & Safety:
Enforce health, safety, and hygiene regulations for both staff and customers.

Security:
Manage the security of the premises, which may involve working with security staff to handle incidents and unruly patrons.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,000.00-35,000.00 per year
