Managing Editor (internal Only)

Bristol Area, United Kingdom

Job Description

Company Description
Our Media is a leading special-interest content business, based in the buzzing, creative city of Bristol. We're home to market-leading brands in craft, cycling, science and nature, homes and music.
We help our audiences pursue their passions through highly trusted, original content - in print, video and online. Our much-loved brands include BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Your Home, Gathered.how, BikeRadar and Cycling Plus.
We also have an award-winning content agency that works with major charities, brands and membership organisations to help them tell their stories and engage audiences better - in print, video, and online.
Position
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Managing Editor to oversee editorial operations and quality control across a suite of WWF-branded print titles and products for both children and adults.
This is a mid-weight role for someone who thrives in editorial process management and has a sharp eye for editorial detail. You'll work closely with writers, illustrators, photographers, and designers to bring engaging, purposeful content to life - ensuring it's beautifully presented, factually accurate, and aligned to WWF's values and tone.
You'll manage timelines, flatplans, proofing stages and delivery across multiple titles per year, collaborating closely with internal teams and maintaining strong client relationships throughout.
This is a unique opportunity to deliver fun, inspiring and mission-driven content in collaboration with one of the world's most respected environmental organisations.
For a full list of job responsibilities, please see the attached job description.

  • Comfortable liaising with clients and collaborators in a confident, professional manner.
  • Experience working on content for children and/or families is a strong advantage.
  • Passionate about purpose-led content, nature, conservation or sustainability.
Desirable
  • Strong experience in editorial roles within publishing, content marketing or agency environments.
  • Experience producing multi-title print content and managing complex editorial workflows.
  • A strong understanding of working with visual creatives including illustrators and photographers.
  • Familiarity with client-facing processes including feedback cycles, reviews and approvals.
  • Previous experience working with mission-driven or charitable brands is a bonus.
