We are recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join us here at Octavius.

We're proud to be delivering the A38 Major Road Network scheme in Bristol - a 20 million project that will enhance connectivity and resilience across the region. This design and build scheme is expected to complete in Summer 2027, and you'll play a pivotal role in shaping its success from the outset.



As part of our growing presence in the South West, we are committed to long-term investment in the region. We're currently working on key projects in the region such as:


Bridge replacement project with North Somerset Council Gen 5 Project at Exmouth in Devon Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF)




You'll be working on...



Leading the commercial management of this flagship highways project, ensuring robust financial performance, contractual compliance, and effective risk and opportunity management. You'll oversee procurement, reporting, and cost control, while supporting the Commercial Manager in driving commercial excellence.



You'll also be responsible for building and managing the commercial team based in Bristol - this is a leadership role with real influence and visibility.

About you...



You're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or current Managing Quantity Surveyor with a background in highways. You bring leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering value. You thrive in a non-hierarchical environment where you can influence decisions and mentor others.





You'll bring...


Proven success in commercial management of highways projects Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost management tools Experience leading and developing commercial teams Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience) Professional membership (RICS/CICES) desirable
