Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manual Turner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of machining processes and be adept at operating manual lathes and other related machinery. This role involves fabricating components to precise specifications, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. The Manual Turner will work closely with engineering and production teams to deliver exceptional results.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Reading Engineering Drawings: Proficient in interpreting technical drawings for part production. Calculating Dimensions: Use mathematical skills and measuring instruments to determine dimensions and tolerances. Machining Parts: Produce parts to specifications using various tools, including lathes, milling machines and drills. Carry out inspection intermediate inspection using gauges and measuring instruments Promote and provide constant input into continuous improvement Attention to Detail: Maintain high tolerances and focus on health and safety. Professional Execution: Ensure all work is executed to the highest professional standards. Comply with all policies, specifications and safety procedures

Experience/Attributes Required:

Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in a machine environment. Proficiency in operating manual and semi-auto lathes and mills. (Prototrak / XYZ) Time-served qualifications such as ONC, NVQ, or equivalent Apprenticeships. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Good physical fitness to meet the job's demands. A flexible and positive outlook.

Ways of Working

Our production hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm and Friday 7.30am-12.30pm
