Due to significant growth in the last few years, we are looking to strengthen our existing team with the appointment of a Manufacturing Apprentice.
This role provides an opportunity to start a career in manufacturing and engineering in a successful British company, with an expanding global presence.
The role also includes the opportunity to acquire a nationally recognised qualification, specifically the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering through supported on-the-job learning and day release - 1 day per week.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they are keen and able to forge a role for themself in a forward-thinking, dynamic and successful company. They will do this by being self-motivated, hard-working, reliable, polite, keen to learn and progress, and by being able to contribute effectively in a customer-oriented, team-working environment.
This position is offered as a 3-year programme, in accordance with the National Apprenticeships Framework. It is the Company's intention to offer an extension to this initial contract, in the form of either a longer subsequent time-limited contract or a permanent position. However, this will be conditional upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship within the specified timescale, satisfactory performance within the role and the performance of the business at the time.

This position will be based in our high-quality assembly and state-of-the-art testing facilities at our Rendlesham premises, near Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Job Purpose Statement
To effectively develop the core skills to be able to assemble and test pump units and associated equipment and become skilled in managing kits of parts, booking goods in and out, in order to produce a high-quality product to the customer's specification, in accordance with prescribed timescales, whilst at the same time completing an equivalent NVQ Level 3 engineering apprenticeship.
Key Result Areas
Assemble a range a horizontal, vertical and in-line vertical pumps and achieve appropriate approval and sign-off acceptance for Customer release.
Complete a variety of tests including Head & flow, NPSH, Noise, Vibration and Resonance to meet customer specifications & delivery expectations.
Deliver acceptable electrical wiring of products where required and complete all necessary assembly related manufacturing activities to ensure the product is approved for sign-off.
To be responsible for own health and safety and personal development, keeping up to date with relevant issues in relation to job role and to demonstrate good housekeeping.
Maintain and regularly complete required apprentice NVQ course-work and attendance at college during pre-agreed term schedule.
Develop effective interpersonal skills across each of the companies' key departments and actively contribute to the continued growth of the company.
