Job Overview


We have a unique and hugely exciting opportunity for a

Manufacturing Assembly Technician

to join our team, and play a pivotal role in manufacturing Subtera's products, and developing ISO9001 manufacturing processes.

The role is predominately based at our headquarters, which are within the renowned Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, in Harwell, Oxfordshire.

About the role:



In this role, you will be collaborating with colleagues as part of a cross-disciplinary team and contributing to the successful delivery of projects and assembly of products.

What you'll do:



Manufacture and test products according to ISO9001 processes, quality standards, and specifications. Assemble and test systems, sub-assemblies, and related components. Maintain accurate records of manufacturing and test results. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of work instructions. Work towards quality objectives and according to company processes. Help to continuously improve manufacturing, and to resolve production issues. Maintain manufacturing cell cleanliness, safely and effectively. Adhere to all safety protocols, including ESD, and maintain a safe working environment.

Your key skills and personal attributes:



Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Good attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation. Analytical skills for interpreting test results and supporting data-driven decisions. Effective communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues with minimal support. Experience in both prototype and production environments. Familiarity with quality assurance and testing methodologies. Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials. Basic proficiency in CAD software and design tools (advantageous).

Essential:



A qualification in any relevant technical discipline. Demonstrable experience of technical product, or subsystem, assembly. An understanding of working within an ISO9001 quality management system, or similar. Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive, self-motivated attitude. Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
