Summary As a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician at BD, your day will be filled with exciting challenges and opportunities to make a real impact. You'll be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support to all areas of manufacturing, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to GMP standards in our clean rooms and controlled areas. From undertaking scheduled preventive maintenance activities using SAP to monitoring machine performance and responding quickly to breakdowns, your role will be crucial in maintaining our high-quality production processes. This role involves shift work and requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Support to achieve production output standards
• Maintain Production Machinery
• Plan Preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain machine spare parts
• Advise on technical issues
• Support Continuous Improvement activities
• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns
• Maintain and repair production machinery to ensure consistent performance
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance using SAP systems
• Monitor and analyse breakdown trends to improve equipment reliability
• Ensure availability and control of spare parts for all machinery
• Respond promptly to equipment failures to minimise downtime
• Support process improvement initiatives across manufacturing areas
• Participate in training and risk assessment programmes
• Prepare detailed reports and attend production meetings when required

About you

• Qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Tooling/Plastics processing, either through an apprenticeship or HND/Degree.
• Experience within a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of high-speed automated assembly processes.
• Experience of problem solving and fault finding on manufacturing machines.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
• Computer literate - Microsoft Office.
