Role Summary:


The Assistant Supervisor will support the Shift Supervisor in their accountabilities in relation to the manufacturing operation. This will involve supporting the Shift Supervisor in the management of staff, production output and quality targets whilst supporting the smooth running of all production processes.

You will support the Shift Supervisor in fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.

You will ensure support in ensuring efficiency, quality and safety whilst contributing to the achievement of production goals. You will support in troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on the production floor whilst ensuring a safe and clean production environment.

In your role as Assistant Supervisor, you will always cover for the Supervisor in their absence. In supporting the maintenance of quality standards in the production environment you will also act as cover for the shift Quality Control Assistance during holidays or absence.

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 5.30am - 2.30pm

Key Responsibilities:



Supporting and assisting the shift supervisor on the day to day running of the production shift. Holiday/Absence cover for the shift supervisor. Holiday/Absence cover for the shift QA. Responsible for the quality of product produced in line with the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures. Support in the management, development, and motivation of direct reporting staff. Support in ensuring that staff are managed and rotated in line with achieving the production plan and production targets. To attend the daily production meeting. Ensure that the production plan is carried out in the most efficient way possible to avoid unnecessary labour costs while meeting agreed deadlines. Support the inductions with agency starters and creating a working experience in line with core values. Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to in line with the companies Health and Safety policy. Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practice standards and targets are met. Support opening & closing of factory/site when require in line with your contracted shift. Accountable for ensuring the fire register and signing in board is correct for each shift. Communicate expectations to operational staff and evaluate their performance providing feedback constructively as agreed with Shift Supervisor. Supporting the Shift Supervisor in taking the necessary steps to address underperformance in line with company policy. To complete any required training courses and take advantage of opportunities to further develop your skills and experience. Responsible for supporting the coordination of the training of all staff up to company standard as directed by Shift Supervisor. Be able to support the business with any projects if required. Be able to lead a team on overtime if required (rotation with Supervisor). Ensure that the production plan is conducted in the most efficient way possible to avoid unnecessary labour costs while meeting agreed deadlines. Key lead for X3 for the production floor.

Qualifications / Experience:



Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is desirable but not essential. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting is advantageous and preferred. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, as well as a working knowledge of ERP systems is advantageous.

High level of attentiveness and situational awareness to ensure smooth and safe operations. Demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Sound understanding and adherence to workplace health and safety procedures. Commitment to maintaining high quality and production standards. Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment. Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
