The ManThe

The Manufacturing Engineer will support daily activities and lead improvement initiatives in our surface finishing production area. Looking to refine current processes and explore new improved ways of achieving company goals. Mission

To provide Product Company UK, with a sustainable world-leading surface finishing process, through the development and modification of the existing processes as well as being involved in the design, installation and commissioning of new process plants and equipment. To provide technical expertise, training and mentoring of the processes along with production and product design support. Key Responsibilities

  • Define process improvement projects as well as support the business in the design and installation of new manufacturing lines and equipment to support business initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively as the process expert to ensure production lines run in a safe, efficient manner producing high quality parts
  • Become owner / subject-matter expert to drive equipment related process improvements including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Development of the manufacturing process and to ensure that all equipment, processes and methodologies comply with applicable standards, company policy and all Health & Safety Laws, Acts, Regulations and Codes.
  • Generate and maintain documentation including machine and process specification, Drawings, Bill of Materials, Spare Parts, PFMEA, Control Plans and Process Flow Charts.
  • To provide guidance on the \xe2\x80\x9cscale-up to mass manufacturing\xe2\x80\x9d of new product development to the Fastening Technology Group.
  • To support and oversee the Overall Equipment Effectiveness improvement activities for the process/section, reviewing and analysing the data to make improvement recommendations and driving the improvements through to completion.
  • Support training activities with best practice and training literature, sharing best practices across all sites.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in process design and engineering success.
  • Strong engineering and scientific background in an autonomous working culture.
  • Demonstrated experience with powder and liquid handling process equipment - feeders, pumps, vacuum transfer, two-phase liquid mixing.
  • Experience in the programming and operating of Industrial Plants as well as analytical equipment.
  • Structured thinking and problem solving abilities. Ability to collect and analyse data to drive activities.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and ability to independently execute those priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, as well as report writing skills
  • Keen to learn new things quickly and have an interest in career development and training within the workplace
Education / Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years\' experience working within a manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and process improvement methodologies.
  • HNC/HND Engineering desirable.
